I'm a life-long, primarily self-taught artist who has gone through many transformations during my artistic journey. What started out as early childhood drawings on scraps of paper, slowly became something more. In my early teens I picked up the first paint brush and found my 'holy grail' for artistic expression. Although, I occasionally dabble in photography and still find great joy in drawing, painting remains my favorite creative outlet. There's just something magical about watching a blank canvas transform into something rich and life-like!
I studied art at Montana State University and the University of Great Falls, from which I earned a BFA. However, I found that my realistic approach was not well received by academia, a situation that discouraged me from pursuing art for many years following graduation. Thankfully, my path has come full circle and I am once again pursuing my passion without feeling the need to apologize for what I paint or how I paint it.
The past has been a tremendous learning experience and the future is bright! I intend to continue painting the things that feed my soul and bring joy to others, be it an iconic hero from pop culture, beloved animals or a tranquil landscape. A word of advice.....follow your dreams and don't be afraid to BE who you were meant to be. I was meant to be an artist.
